How to Get a 360 Between the Legs Dunk

The evolution of the slam dunk has been an innovative one. Players such as "Dr. J" (Julius Erving), Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan established the move as one of the most exciting plays in sports, and future generations have added their own unique flair. One such creative new-school slam is the 360 between the legs dunk. This can be a very challenging move, but players who have the skill and the jumping ability to try such a maneuver can do so by following these steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Dribble toward the rim at a slight angle. Once you are about five feet from the basket, plant both feet in the ground and grasp the basketball with both hands.

    • 2

Bend your knees and push off the ground to propel yourself into the air. Simultaneously as you jump, twist your body from its forward position to rotate yourself around your center axis to begin the 360 portion of the dunk.

    • 3

Grab the basketball in your off-hand (opposite from dominant) and transfer the ball to your other hand by passing it between your legs while you are in mid-air. Depending on the length of your arms you may need to lift your front leg to give the ball enough room to clear underneath your leg.

    • 4

Secure the ball in your dominant hand as you complete the one full rotation that makes up the 360 degree maneuver. Locate the basket while you extend your arm upwards to drop the ball forcefully through the hoop as you grasp the rim.
