Basketball Dribbling Games for Kids
-
Cones Game
-
Line up two rows of 12 cones each. The cones should be 2 feet apart from each other. Divide the kids into two teams, and have them line up next to their respective cones. Each player must dribble around the cones. Once he reaches the last cone, the next player on the team goes until all the players have had a turn. The first team to finish the drill without knocking over any of the cones wins. If a player knocks over a cone, he must return to the front of the line and try again.
Two-Ball Dribble Race
-
Give each player two basketballs, and position them at the far baseline of the court. Each player must dribble both balls down the court. The first player to make it to half court without losing a ball is the winner.
Dribble and Tag
-
Give every player a ball and tell him he only can dribble within half the court. Designate one player as "it." That player tries to tag another player. The person who gets tagged becomes "it." Any player who goes out of bounds or stops dribbling is out of the game. The last person left dribbling wins the game.
