Basketball Banquet Programs

School basketball banquets are typically held at the close of the season to honor the team and celebrate its accomplishments. Programs are handed out to guests before the event starts. Several things should be included in the program to make sure it is thorough. Keep in mind that not only team members will be present, but parents and administrators as well. You will want to include details that everyone finds interesting and newsworthy.
  1. Roster

    • All basketball banquet programs should have the team roster included in it. The roster should be current and not include players that quit or were asked to leave the team. You should make note of players who will not be returning next year, either because they are due to graduate or some other reason. Place the names of your seniors at the top of the team roster. You can also include a special page next to the team roster dedicated to the non-returning players. On this page you can include short biographies, details of future plans, and basketball achievements.

    Pictures

    • A basketball banquet program should include several pictures from the past season. The most important picture is the team picture. It can be placed in the front of the program or in another place where everyone will see it. Action shots of game moments are also a nice touch. Put the action photos at the top or bottom of a page, with a small description of what was happening while the shot was being taken.

    Schedule and Results

    • The program should include a page or two devoted to the past season's schedule and results. This provides a permanent record of the team's performance. Beside the game score, you can list the leading scorers and rebounders.

    Organization Information

    • It is important that you include some information about the organization that you are playing for. For example, if it is a school you should put its address, year founded, Superintendent or President, school nickname and other relevant data.
