Basket Ball Skills
Coming up with new ideas for basket ball skills can sometimes be a challenge. Try this drill that Doug sent to me and let me know how it works for you.
From Doug…
A basketball drill we do the kids seem to really enjoy is called 3 on 3 continuous.
The players are divided into 2 teams, one on each end.
It starts with 3 on 3 on one end and the others are divided into 2 lines at the free throw line extended on their prospective ends. If offense scores they quickly sprint to the other end (their teams end) to play defense. The team that was on defense who ever gets the rebound make or miss passes to one of the guys in line and stays in the drill going in transition with the rebounder and first guys in line.
We play first team to 10 baskets, fouls on defense you can either give them a point or check the ball out front, offensive foul or turnover the offense drops the ball and gets back on defense, they can defend the outlet pass or anywhere on the floor.
It’s a good transition drill, conditioning drill and develops competitiveness as the losing team usually does push-ups or a bleacher or something short and quick.
