How to Install a Cannondale Hollowgram Crankset

- Rag or paint brush
- 8 mm Allen key
- Bicycle bearing grease

Use a rag or small paint brush to clean both ends of the spindle, as well as the spindle threads.

Apply bicycle bearing grease to each end of the spindle. Coat the spindle's internal threads as well.

Grab one of the Cannondale Hollowgram crankset arms. Align the splines inside the crank arm with the splines around the end of the spindle. The drive side arm goes on the same side of the bicycle as the chain. The non-drive side arm goes on the side of the bicycle opposite the chain.

Press the crankarm onto the end of the spindle.

Coat the threads of one of the crankarm fixing bolts with the bicycle bearing grease. Coat the attached steel washer as well.

Use an 8 mm Allen key to thread the fixing bolt clockwise into the side of the crankarm.

Grasp the crank to keep it from rotating, and use the 8 mm Allen key to tighten the fixing bolt.

Fit the second Canndondale Hollowgram crankarm onto the end of the spindle opposite the first crankarm. Install this arm so that the pedal-end is 180 degrees opposite the pedal-end of the first crankarm.

Apply grease to the threads of the second crankarm fixing bolt. Coat the attached steel washer as well.

Use the 8 mm Allen key to thread the crankarm fixing bolt into the side of the crankarm clockwise. Hold the crank arm still with one hand while tightening the the fixing bolt fully.
