1
Locate the pinch bolt at the end of the left Tiagra crank arm. Use a 5 mm hex key to loosen this bolt.
-
2
Insert the nub on the side of the TL-FC16 tool, or its equivalent, into the end cap that secures the left arm to the spindle.
-
3
Twist the end cap tool counterclockwise, loosening the end cap. Remove the end cap.
-
4
Note the seam at the end of the left crank arm, where the crank arm attaches to the spindle. A piece called the "stopper plate" resides within this seam.
-
5
Use a flat blade screwdriver and gently wedge the plate into the up position, away from the crank arm.
-
6
Tug on the left Tiagra crank arm to detach it from the spindle. Set the arm aside.
-
7
Tap the exposed end of the crank spindle with a rubber shop mallet to dislodge the right Tiagra crank arm.
-
8
Tug on the right crank arm to remove it from the bicycle.
