How to Use the Mountain Morph Reversible Head

Topeak's Mountain Morph pump is made for mountain bike use. The pump is a small pump that attaches to a special mount on the bicycle, or fits in a hydration pack. Mountain bike tires use either a Schrader or Presta style valve on the inner tubes; the Mountain Morph has a head with nozzles for either type of tube valve. In addition, the pump has a folding foot that allows it to function as a floor pump.

Instructions

    • 1

Grip the top of the handle and pull it up and make it perpendicular to the pump barrel. Flip the foot stand down and place the pump on the ground so the foot stand supports the barrel. Place your foot on the pump foot.

    • 2

Unscrew the valve cap on the bicycle wheel's inner tube. Determine if it is large, round and has a metal pin in the center of the valve or if it is long and narrow. If the former, it is a Schrader valve; the latter is a Presta valve.

    • 3

Flip the pump lock level on the handle open. Push the Schrader nozzle onto the Schrader valve on the tire and close the lock lever. Pull the handle up and down to fill the tire. Open the lock lever and pop the nozzle from the valve.

Push the Presta fitting onto the inner tube valve (Presta) and pull the pump handle up and down to fill tire. Make sure the lock lever is closed when pumping. Once filled, flip the lever open and remove the nozzle from the valve.

Push the handle back into the barrel and push it down so it is parallel to the pump barrel. Flip the foot back up and into the barrel.
