Huffy Tundra 18 Speed Instructions
The Huffy Tundra is an entry-level mountain bike equipped with front suspension to help absorb the shocks and bumps of the trail. Huffy equips this specific bicycle with an 18-speed drivetrain comprised of a triple chainring setup in the front and six cogs on the rear cassette. A rider shifts these gears by a twist-style shift system made in the same vein as the ubiquitous Grip Shift shifters.

1
Familiarize yourself with your Huffy Tundra's cockpit. Note that the left shifter has three markings on it and controls the derailleur that shifts the gears attached to your cranks. The right shifter controls the six gears mounted on the rear wheel.
-
2
Use your right shifter to make minor adjustments in gearing. When your cadence, or pedaling speed, gets too high, shift down a gear in the back to go into a tougher gear, adding efficiency to your pedaling.
-
3
Shift up or down with your left shifter to make major gearing adjustments. If you are approaching a climb, shift down to your small chainring, or shift to your largest chainring when approaching a fast downhill section.
