Install A Backboard To A Building
-
1
Mark spots where mounting bracket will be secured. The operation requires two people. First, measure from the ground to a spot on the building corresponding to how high you want the basket to be. Mark the spot in pencil. Find the marking on the universal mounting bracket that corresponds to where the rim will be. With ladders on each side of the spot on the building, a person on each ladder lifts the bracket until the two markings align. Use a level to insure the bracket is level to the ground, and mark the spots on the building where the machine holes in the bracket will attach to the building. Set the mounting bracket back on the ground.
-
2
Attach mounting bracket to building. Drill holes in the machine hole markings corresponding to the size of the bolts being used to secure the mounting bracket to the building. Lift mounting bracket into place and insert bolts. While one person holds mounting bracket in place, the other secures locking bolts on the building's interior. Be sure mounting bracket is firmly secure before continuing.
-
3
Construct backboard and rim assembly. Lift backboard into place onto the mounting bracket and insert bolts through the backboard and mounting bracket. Secure with locking bolts on the side adjacent to the building. Lift rim into place, insert bolts through rim and backboard and secure. Adjust frame to 90 degree angle from ground level if necessary. Attach net if desired.

Installing A Backboard To A Huffy Base
-
5
Prep the base and frame. Be sure the wheels of the movable base are disengaged and will not roll. Fill the base with 100 lbs. of sand or water. Insert the frame's outer arm into pre-determined slot in the base. Place the front edge of the arm so it rests on the pole at the front of the base.
-
6
Construct backboard and rim assembly. Attach backboard to the frame using supplied screws and pre-drilled holes. Secure tightly. Attach rim to backboard in the same manner. Attach net if desired.
-
7
Hoist rim to desired height. Using handle on the base, turn until the rim reaches 7, 8, 9 or 10 feet high.
