Many people trained in martial arts use specific techniques to learn how to punch faster or punch quicker. We can use these methods to train our bodies to become stronger and faster and to punch faster.

One good method to punch faster is to practice punching using resistance bands. Resistance bands are like giant rubber bands. You wrap it around a pole or some kind of stationary, sturdy device that will secure it. Then, practice proper punching form by doing moderate speed punches, alternating arms left and right. Try punching in different angles to your body such as straight forward, upwards, downwards, uppercuts, etc...
Afterwards, try punching faster and slower. You can increase the resistance by buying thicker bands. -

Another method is to practice punching techniques with heavy weights. Heavy weights will build up your muscles so that when you try to punch without the resistance of heavy weights, you will be able to punch faster.

Alternate punching with heavy weights and punching with light weights. This will help you gain the speed and stability to be able to punch faster.

General strength training/weight lifting and good cardiovascular health will help you to punch faster. Make sure to also keep a good diet.

Use a speed bag. These are best used with quick punches. This helps you build rhythm and stamina. You have to be able to time your punches perfectly as the bag rebounds from hitting the top of the mounting device. You want to use thin boxing gloves for this.

Also, using a heavy punching bag can help. You should make sure to practice form and technique and work on speed and recovery.
