How to Use a Neoprene Suit to Workout

The neoprene body suit is better known to boxers as the "sauna suit." It is a classic tool used for ridding the body of toxins and aiding in weight loss, although using one is certainly very uncomfortable for one simple reason. As the name implies, it keeps the heat produced during a work-out inside the confines of the suit, making for a hot workout and a lot of sweat.

Choose a good sauna suit. A sauna suit will get soaked with sweat on the inside, and absorb a lot of washing and wear and tear as a result. Get a good one that will stand up to abuse by shopping with reputable boxing gear companies.

Do hard cardio. Putting on a sauna suit and doing only low cardio exercises defeats the purpose of wearing the sauna suit. You need to get hot inside the suit, and to do that by means of high energy, high cardio exercises. Jump rope, go for a run, or do a hard heavy bag workout.

Stay hydrated. A sauna suit works by making you sweat a lot more than you ordinarily would, so you will lose water by the bucket full. If you are trying to lose real weight, and not water weight, staying hydrated is important.
