Instructions

    • 1

Put on disposable gloves. Using a hot glue gun, drip the glue to make free-form patterns and designs on your lacrosse stick head. These will be the areas where the dye does not change colors. You can also use duct tape, vinyl letters or numbers for more elaborate dye jobs.

    • 2

Prepare the dye in a pot or tray as directed on the package. If you want to use multiple colors, start with the lightest color first. Dip the lacrosse head into the pot or tray with dye as far as you want colored. Leave in the dye for about 10 minutes. If you want a distinct line between colors, hold the head still or hang from a wire coat hanger. To produce more of a soft fade between colors, slightly move the lacrosse head up and down in the dye.

    • 3

Remove the lacrosse head from the pot or tray and wash it off, dry it and let it cool completely. Wait 30 minutes before you either dye it again or chip off the glue. For multiple dye applications, repeat step 2. To keep a color, tape off or add glue to the lacrosse head prior to future dyes. The effect of multiple dye colors is impressive when done correctly.

    • 4

Once you achieve the desired effects and colors, let the lacrosse head dry. Remove glue and vinyl letters or numbers when the lacrosse head is completely cool and dry.

    • 5

String your lacrosse head. If you want to further customize your stick, consider custom stringing the lacrosse head. Also, you can apply tape to the shaft of the lacrosse stick. This can be done in a spiral fashion throughout the entire shaft or just at the end. You can even bake the lacrosse head to reshape it slightly.
