1
Rinse the scuba tank with fresh water. If your tank has a boot, remove it and rinse the tank and boot completely.
-
2
Fill the bucket with a small amount of detergent and enough water to wash the tank. A teaspoon of detergent and half gallon of warm water is plenty for a few tanks.
-
3
Dip the rag in the soapy water and go over the entire tank. Re-wet the rag as needed to thoroughly clean all surfaces of the tank. Clean the boot as well if your tank has one.
-
4
Rinse the tank and boot with fresh water. Wipe down the tank with a dry rag. Allow the tank to dry completely.
-
5
Inspect your tank for any rust spots or dents. If you find any damage or area of rust on your tank, take it in for inspection to your local dive shop. They will evaluate how deep the rust is and recommend solutions.
