How Should a Dive Mask Fit?
Instructions

1
Conduct a dry fit test on the mask. Place your diving regulator in your mouth, look up, and place the mask against your face. Do not tighten the strap yet. A mask that fits correctly will touch your face evenly on all sides. Pay special attention to your temple area and lines between your nose and the corners of your mouth. The mask must press up against your face in those areas. It should not, however, be touching your nose.

2
Breathe in while you still have the mask aligned as described in Step 1. The mask should feel tight against your face now as you create suction by breathing in.
-
3
Don your diving gloves, and with your regulator still in your mouth pinch your nostrils closed. When a mask fits right, you should be able to easily squeeze your nose by pressing on the nose piece.

4
Make sure that the mask is also comfortable. The mask needs to meet all the criteria from the three steps above, but should also be comfortable to wear.
