Springboard Diving Schools in California

Springboard diving is a competitive sport in the swimming family. The diver jumps from the springboard and completes acrobatic flips and twists before breaking the surface of the water. Divers often possess the same skills as gymnasts and dancers since the sport requires grace and kinesthetic abilities. California is a mecca for diving. There are teams and clubs throughout the state. From the beginner to the competitive diver, there are teams and clubs available.

    • The diving class at Sunnyvale Swim Complex offers beginner and intermediate lessons in the basics of springboard driving. The skills taught include approach and hurdle, basic headfirst and feetfirst dives and strength and flexibility.

    McCormick Divers

    • McCormick Divers is a diving team located in Long Beach. Coaches offer diving lessons ranging from beginning classes offered up to four times a week and novice classes that are two to three days a week to junior Olympic and master classes for competitive divers that are offered four to five days a week. All lessons include stretching, dry-land exercises and trampoline skills.

    AAF Rose Bowl Aquatics Center

    • Introductory, intermediate and advanced lessons, along with competitive novice and junior Olympic team lessons are offered throughout the calendar year. As of 2010, rates for classes Monday through Friday were $90 a month and $60 a month for Saturday classes.
