Specifications for the Fujikura Fit-On Regular X Shaft
-
Kick Point
-
As with most shafts designed for better players with higher swing speeds, the Fujikura Fit-On X shaft has a mid- to high kick point. This kick point prevents the ball from "ballooning up" at higher swing speeds, which would rob the better player of distance. This kick point would be best suited to a player with a driver swing speed of at least 100 mph and/or average driver distance of 250 yards or more.
Weight
-
The Fujikura Fit-On X shaft is available in two weights; 70 g and 79 g. In comparison to other high-performance shafts, this places the Fit-On X shaft in the middle of the range, which is roughly 60 to 90 g. This "middle" weight gives the player a better feel of the shaft without slowing him down by being too heavy.
Length
-
The Fujikura Fit-On X Shaft is manufactured at a standard 46 inches. Depending on the requirements of the golfer, this may be modified. A player wanting greater control and accuracy would want to shorten the shaft 1/2 inch or more from the butt end of the shaft. A player wanting an even stiffer feel and lower ball flight would want to shorten the shaft 1/2 inch or more from the tip end of the shaft.
Torque
-
Just as it is the case with the weight, the Fujikura Fit-On X shaft is available in two torques, 3.5 on the 70 g shaft, and 3.1 on the 79 g shaft. The 3.5 torque is best suited to a golfer with a swing speed of at least 100 mph, while the 3.1 torque would be better suited to a player with a swing speed of at least 110 mph.
Considerations
-
For a better player with a handicap of 10 or below, the Fujikura Fit-On X shaft is viable option that offers a combination of feel and control that won't break the bank. While many high-performance shafts exceed a cost of $200, including other shafts made by Fujikura, the Fit-On X shaft is available at just less than $100.
