Bushnell 1500 Slope Edition Instructions

The Bushnell 1500 Slope is a laser range finder designed to accurately determine distances on a golf course for better selection of clubs and shots. Its maximum operational distance is 1,500 yards for highly reflective objects and 1,000 yards for most objects. The slope mode incorporates a built-in inclinometer, which measures the angle of a slope, to automatically incorporate the slope into the calculation of total distance. The displayed information includes the true range and a slope-compensated range, which also takes into account whether the ball will be played uphill or downhill. Laser pulses emitted by the Pinseeker are invisible and safe for eyes.

Instructions

  1. Standard Mode

    • 1

Look through the eyepiece and depress the "Power" button once to activate the LCD display.

    • 2

Place the aiming circle in the display on a target at least 5 yards away.

    • 3

Depress the "Power" button and hold. Cross hairs will surround the aiming circle while the laser is transmitting. Keep the "Power" button depressed until the range figure appears on the LCD display.

    • 4

Release the "Power" button when the range figure appears near the bottom of the LCD display. Cross hairs surrounding the aiming circle will disappear when the button is released.

    • 5

Depress the "Power" button again at any time to get the distance to a new target.

    PinSeeker Mode

    • 6

Look through the eyepiece and press the "Mode" button. Select the Pinseeker mode when you want to selectively compute the distance to the next flag and exclude background objects, such as trees from the range calculation. A small flag icon will appear on the LCD display.

    • 7

Position the aiming circle on the flag of the pin you want to determine distance to. Depress and hold the "Power" button until the range figure appears on the LCD display.

    • 8

Move the laser back and forth on the flag target, slowly "painting" it with the laser beam until a circle surrounds the flag icon and the range figure is displayed. If more than one object is picked up by the laser -- for example the flag and background trees -- the circle surrounding the flag icon indicates that only the distance to the flag is displayed.

    PinSeeker With Slope Mode

    • 9

Look through the eyepiece and press the "Mode" button. Select the Pinseeker With Slope mode to automatically compute a range that incorporates distance and slope angle into the calculation. A triangular icon will appear on the LCD display.

    • 10

Place the aiming circle on the the flag and depress the "Power" button and hold. Slowly move the laser back and forth on the flag target, "painting" it with the laser beam until a circle surrounds the flag icon and the uncorrected range figure is displayed.

    • 11

Continue depressing the "Power" button and holding the target in the aiming circle for at least 2 seconds while the inclinometer computes the slope angle.

    • 12

Release the "Power" button. The degree of angle of the slope and the new, compensated range figure will be displayed.
