How to shoot a wrist shot
-
1
Draw the puck behind you on the backhand, positioning it just behind your back foot, with your feet aligned with the direction of the shot.
-
2
As you bring the puck forward on your stick, transfer your weight from your back foot to your front foot.
-
3
Keep the blade cupped around the puck and bring the stick forward, gradually increasing your hand speed.
-
4
As you follow through on the shot, the puck will slide up the blade of the stick towards the end of the blade. When this happens, flick your wrist, turning the blade of the stick slightly. This will elevate your shot, because the blade of the stick is literally throwing the puck forward.
-
5
Fling the puck by turning your stick blade slightly and snapping the blade. The puck will rise higher or lower depending on how much you elevate the puck with the blade.
