How to Win a Hockey Fight
-
1
Verbally or physically make sure that your opponent is willing to fight. This is part of ice hockey etiquette, and keeps injured or unwilling players from partaking in the fight.
-
2
Drop your stick and gloves. This is mandatory in most leagues so you don't use either as a weapon, or cause unnecessary injury to the other player.
-
3
Take a low stance to stabilize yourself on the ice, and put your hands up in fighting position so you are ready to strike or block your opponent.
-
4
Throw a couple punches if you get the first opportunity, then try to get a good hold on your opponent's jersey. This will help you to keep your balance while fighting on the ice.
-
5
Bob and weave to avoid your opponent's punches, meanwhile, keep turning and try to get your opponent off balance. The more off balance you can make your opponent, the better chance you have of winning the fight.
