How to Shave Body Hair for Bodybuilders

With rippling muscles and sculpted bodies, bodybuilders must prepare to show off their hard work by removing body hair. While oil is applied to the skin to make it shine, the body must be smooth and hair free to facilitate the gleam. Shaving body hair is an essential part of preparing for a show, or even in the day-to-day routine of the bodybuilder.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the comb from the clipper if it is attached, leaving the plain clippers. This will cut the hair short enough to create stubble that can be taken off cleanly by the razor.

    • 2

Turn on the clippers and trim the hair all over your body, from legs to arms to back to chest. Have someone assist you with the areas you cannot reach.

    • 3

Run the shower over your body, making it as hot as is comfortable. This will not only remove clipped hair, it will also help lessen any irritation caused by shaving.

    • 4

Step out of the shower and while still wet, apply a shaving cream or lotion to the area you want to begin shaving. Don't apply the shaving cream over your entire body as it will dry out before you are able to get to every area.

    • 5

Shave the hair off your body using the razor in long, even strokes, cleaning the blade under running water every few strokes. Shave in the opposite direction the hair runs to create a smoother surface. Set aside plenty of time -- rushing will result in unsightly nicks and cuts.

    • 6

Enter the shower again to rinse off all excess shaving cream and begin the process on another area of your body. Repeat the shaving process every week or so using only the razor.
