How to Attack in Netball
Netball is a team sport similar to basketball in which players attempt to move the ball around the court using passes in order to get the ball to a position where it can be shot in the goal. When on the attack, it is up to the offense-eligible players to create an opening for an uncontested shot, both with movement when away from the ball as well as with quick, decisive play when in possession of the ball.
Instructions
-
-
1
Communicate with other players on the court so that you can work as a team to make the best possible shot.
-
2
Move without the ball to ensure that the player in possession has many different passing lanes available to move the ball.
-
3
Deceive the opposing players, moving hard in one direction then quickly changing direction to lose your defender.
-
4
Pass the ball quickly---keeping it moving---so the defense does not have time to get set and you can create openings.
-
5
Move to locations on the court where you are best at shooting to improve your chances of making a shot.
-
6
Jump when shooting to get the ball over the outstretched hands of defenders.
