How to Attach a Ski Lift Ticket

Before you can access the slopes and ride the ski lifts, you need a valid lift ticket which is scanned or checked by the lift attendant before skiers and snowboarders can pass through and ride the lift chairs. Typically, a ski mountain resort has more than one lift, and lift tickets may be designated for accessing certain lifts and slopes. Always attach your tickets securely to your pants or jacket because some resorts do not re-issue lost passes.

Use the zip-tie provided with the lift ticket and insert it through the punched hole on the ticket. The hole is typically located on the top middle portion of the ticket.

Choose a visible spot on your jacket or pants for the ticket. Ski and snowboard jackets usually have designated lift tickets clips on the front side. The zipper of your jacket and ski pants are also good attachment points.

Pass the pointed end of the zip-tie through the hole of the zipper pull or lift ticket clip. Fasten the zip-tie by threading the pointed end into the casing. Pull the end and release, the lip holds the zip tie securely in place. Position the front side of the ticket facing, out so you can present it for scanning to the lift attendant with ease.
