Measurements of Standard Astroturf Pitch
-
Entire Pitch
-
The differences in pitch size are strategic to either speed up or slow play down depending on the home team's preference. The length of a standard pitch can be from 100 yards to 130 yards while the width can be anywhere from 50 yards to 100 yards.
Scoring Area
-
The scoring area is made up of three parts: the penalty box, the 6-yard box, and the goal. The penalty box must be 18 yards long by 44 yards wide. The 6-yard box sits inside the penalty box and must be 6 yards long by 20 yards wide. The goal is inside all this and is 8 yards wide.
Pitch Dimensions
-
The only other mandatory dimensions are the center circle and center line. The center circle radius must have a radius of 10 yards. The center line must be exactly in the middle of the length of the entire pitch.
