Guide for a Total 90 Ball

The Total 90 is a line of high-end soccer balls manufactured by Nike. One of the more popular balls in the line has been the Total 90 Tracer, used as the official ball for professional teams such as Spain's La Liga, the English Premier League and Italy's Serie A. Balls in the T90 series are readily available at sporting goods stores or online.
  1. Aesthetics

    • The balls are made of a durable, textured material. Each has five layers of casing, meant to give players a better sense of touch when making contact with the ball. All balls in the line have high-contrast, brightly colored graphics designed to show off how the ball moves and spins. Higher-end balls in the series are hand-stitched and guaranteed not to lose shape or stitching for two years.

    Engineering

    • The dimples covering the exterior of the ball help improve its accuracy. When kicked, balls in the line are designed to fly straighter and not wobble off course. The ball's 32 panels are configured for maximum aerodynamics and to keep pressure distributed evenly, which makes it react more consistently.

    Styles and Sizes

    • Balls in the series are sold in three playing sizes that are designed for specific age groups. Size 3 is recommended for players younger than 8. Size 4 is for children ages 8 to 12. Size 5 is a standard, regulation-sized ball. It also comes as a small skills ball designed for training.

Nike currently offers more than a dozen different balls in the line, including the Strike, Luma and Chrome. They differ in price, quality and design.
