Grants for Soccer Fields

Soccer is one of the most widely played sports in the world. Each year, thousands of youngsters participate in organized youth soccer and recreational leagues in the spring and fall. One of the reasons the sport is so widespread is because the sport requires very little equipment. That said, a playing field is one of the most expensive things for a soccer organization to build and maintain. Non-profit organizations can apply for grants for building soccer fields or enhancing existing ones.
  1. U.S. Soccer Foundation Grants

    • Created in 1994, the U.S. Soccer Foundation provides financial support to organizations in all 50 states for the development of soccer fields that offer low-income and at-risk youths the opportunity to participate in soccer programs. Since its inception, the organization has awarded more than $50 million in grants. The U.S. Soccer Federation offers field grants and footprint field grants. The field grants award up to $100,000 to non-profit organizations for construction aspects related to a soccer field. Field grants may be used for field equipment, such as permanent goals and benches, irrigation equipment, lighting, and maintenance equipment.

Footprint field grants provide financial assistance for synthetic field surfaces. Grants are available for both the construction of synthetic fields or for improvements to existing synthetic fields. Non-profit organizations may be eligible for up to $200,000 in funding for synthetic fields.
