- Pin punch
- Screwdriver
Instructions
-
Replace the Mauser Trigger
-
1
Unload the rifle and remove the bolt. Ensure that the chamber is clear.
-
2
Remove the trigger guard screws and remove the action from the stock.
-
3
Use the hammer and pin punch to tap out the pin holding the stock trigger in place.
-
4
Install the new trigger according to the manufacturer's instructions. The procedure may differ by manufacturer, but typically consists of replacing the pin and tightening a screw to hold the new trigger assembly in place.
-
5
Place the action back in the stock and tighten the trigger guard screws to reassemble. Ensure the action is still unloaded and the chamber clear. Then reinstall the bolt.
-
6
Test to ensure that the safety, when set to the "on" position, prevents the trigger from releasing the firing pin. With the safety off and the rifle unloaded, test to ensure that the trigger operates properly.
-
7
Adjust the trigger pull by removing the action from the stock and following the trigger manufacturer's directions for making adjustments to the trigger assembly. After making adjustments, always test for proper operation of the safety and trigger with the rifle unloaded.
