How to Make Your Own Remote Predator Call
Things You'll Need
- Sound recorder
- MP3 player or CD player with CDs
- Multimedia-managing software
- Mini amplifier
- 50-watt powerhorn
- 12-inch audio cable
Instructions
-
-
1
Record or download the cries of an injured animal, preferably those of an infant or young animal. Injured jackrabbit and cottontail calls are very effective. Record calls of challenging coyotes; these may also be found on many websites.
-
2
Insert these calls into your multimedia-managing software of choice.
-
3
Construct a 20-minute playlist, starting with two minutes of silence.
-
4
Burn a CD or download the playlist to the MP3 player.
-
5
Connect the MP3 or CD player with the 12-inch audio cable to the mini-amp, then connect the powerhorn to the mini-amp with the included cord. You now have a remote predator call.
-
6
Set up the remote predator call 80 yards upwind from your intended position and start the playlist. The two minutes of initial silence should prove enough time to walk the 80 yards to your concealed position.
