How to Make Your Own Soccer Scarves

Brightly colored, knitted soccer scarves for teams, coaches and fans have been all the rave in Europe for years and are quickly becoming popular with U.S. soccer aficionados. There are several websites where you can custom design, preview and order personalized soccer scarves in your team colors for your team and fans to wear on chilly nights and to wave in support of the team at any time.

      Choose a soccer scarf supplier. There are several companies online that offer customized soccer scarves including Go Soccer, Wildemasche, Soccer Supporters and Ruffneck Scarves. Some will only service orders of 50 scarves or more, but at least one, Wildemasche, will create smaller orders, even offering scarf-making services for a single scarf.

      Supply the company with your soccer scarf concepts. Provide the colors you want incorporated in the design, usually the team colors, logos or text and your design ideas. Most companies will only allow for four or five colors; the simpler the design the better the product will turn out.

      Send the company artwork or logos in .jpg, .png or .pdf electronic files.

      Review the mockup graphics created by the scarf manufacturer and select and approve your favorite.

      Specify the number of scarves in your order and place a deposit, usually 50 percent, to begin the manufacturing process.

      Request a photo of a sample scarf once the first one is produced to ensure it meets your standards. Once approved, pay the balance for the order and it will be shipped to you within four to six weeks from approval of the final product.
