How to Fire a Glock 26
Things You'll Need
- Glock 9mm pistol - model 26
- Clock magazine loader
- 9mm parabellum cartridges
Instructions
-
-
1
Use an authorized firing range when practicing firing a handgun.
-
2
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use the patented magazine loader to insert 10 9mm rounds into the magazine.
-
3
Face down-range and slide the magazine into the butt of the weapon from below with the bullets facing forward until you feel the magazine click into place. Chamber a round by gripping the serrated notches on each side of the upper body of the weapon, called the "slide". Pull back as far as it will go before releasing it. The slide will return to its original position and chamber a bullet at the same time. Glock pistols have a patented "Safe Action" mechanism that dispenses with the safety catch, so the weapon is ready to fire.

4
Hold the Glock 26 in your strong hand. Stand with your body turned partially sideways in relation to the target, with your strong leg and shoulder rearmost. Extend your strong arm fully, with the handgun pointing toward the target. Cup your fingers and place your weak hand over and around your strong hand. The weak elbow must be flexed and both elbows must be pointing down. If this is uncomfortable, flex your strong elbow slightly.

5
With the target set at a distance of five meters, aim at the middle of the target known as the "5-X ring". Push your strong hand toward the target while pulling backward with your weak hand cupped around the strong hand to counter the force. This is known as the "Weaver Stance". This stance, together with the push-pull tension created, gives the pistol a stable firing platform. Refine your aim and pull the trigger. Check the target to see where the bullet went.
-
6
Repeat step five, but after aiming, squeeze off two shot as quickly as you can. This is known as the "double tap". Repeat these actions, but this time, empty the weapon by pulling the trigger seven times until the slide locks backward in the open position. Reel the target in and check your grouping. Press the magazine release button located on the left side of the pistol with your thumb. Reload and continue practicing.
