How to Increase Vertical Leap Using Jump Soles

Jumpsoles are sports training devices that help build up the muscles used when you jump, specifically the calf muscles. The devices attach to normal athletic shoes but force you to walk on your toes without using your heel. By performing a series of training exercises while wearing the Jumpsoles, you increase your ability to jump higher. Jumpsoles are best used to train for sports that require jumping such as basketball.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a pair of athletic shoes that are appropriate for the sport that you are training for.

    • 2

Sit down and insert the top of one of your shoes into the front of one of the Jumpsoles. Pull back the two top velcro straps and readjust them if necessary to fit your foot. Wrap the strap tightly behind the back of your heel and wrap it around to the opposite side of the Jumpsole and secure the velcro. Repeat the process to put the other Jumpsole onto your other foot.

    • 3

Stand up and pick up a jump rope. Jump rope for approximately five to 10 minutes to warm up and to get used to the Jumpsoles.

    • 4

Run as fast as you can in the jump soles for approximately 30 seconds and then rest for 30 seconds. Continue performing sprints for an additional five to 10 minutes.

    • 5

Lift your knees high and run forward as if you were were running through tires on the ground. Continue running for approximately 30 seconds and then rest for 30 seconds. Repeat this exercise for approximately five to 10 minutes.

    • 6

Continue wearing the Jumpsoles while you do normal activities associated with your sport.
