Master Lock Combination Instructions

A common sight in locker rooms and school hallways, the Master Lock combination lock is famous for its stalwart construction and ease of use. The combination lock features a 48 mm wide double-armored stainless steel body and hardened steel shackle. This particular model of Master Lock lays claim to the title of world's best-selling combination lock.

Instructions

      Turn the lock over and make note of the combination on the backside. The combination is printed on a removable sticker. The combination must be entered from left to right. Once you have memorized the combination, or copied it to a secure location, remove the sticker and discard it.

      Align the "0" on the dial with the arrow on the lock's body.

      Give the dial two full turns to the right. After the second pass, stop the dial when the first number in the combination is beneath the arrow.

      Turn the dial to the left one full turn, so the first number in the combination passes the arrow. Continue turning until the second number in the combination is beneath the arrow.

      Turn the dial to the right, stopping when the third number in the combination is beneath the arrow.

      Pull the lock shackle to open the lock. To close the lock, close the shackle and scramble the combination.
