How to Fit an Athletic Cup

1
Find the proper support system for your athletic cup. If you are playing a contact sport, you will not to wear an athletic supporter or jock strap to hold the cup. The jock strap by itself is designed to lift and support a man's penis, scrotum and testicles. By itself a jock strap will provide some protection but not enough for a heavy contact sport.

2
Buy the correct size athletic supporter and cup. The athletic supporter's size is determined by the band size of the waist. The larger the waist, the larger the area of support provided by the jock. This does not necessarily make any sense because the size of the individual's waist has nothing to do with the size of the man's protected area. In some cases, the individual may have to have the band taken in if it is too loose around the waist. The athletic supporter must cover the entire area in order to be effective.

3
Find an athletic cup that will also cover the areacomfortably. Finding one that "just fits" is a significant mistake. Your protected area should not be cramped into the cup. It should have enough room to be an easy fit.

4
Wear the cup with the athletic supporter when you are playing a heavy-duty contact sport and there is a significant chance you could take a hard shot to the area. It may be somewhat uncomfortable and take some time to get used to, but it will protect you from a serious injury.
