Adding a swim platform to your boat adds an area to jump off into the water as well as a level ground to get back into the boat. There are several kits available on the market that fit your needs. Installing the screws for this platform is a straightforward procedure. Each platform kit will vary on the amount of screws, but the installation process for those screws is consistent.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the swim platform kit on the boat's hull. Place the brackets in the designated areas, according to your platform kit. Each platform kit is different, so the number of brackets and screws will vary.

    • 2

Mark the areas where the screws will go with a permanent marker. These are the holes on your brackets from your swim platform kit.

    • 3

Use a drill and ¼-inch drill bit to create holes for those designated places. If the platform instructions indicate a different drill bit size, use the one for that kit.

    • 4

Repeat the platform setup as the platform instructions indicate. Use a drill with a Phillips screwdriver bit to install the screws into your drilled holes.

    • 5

Cover the swim platform with a waterproof paint that contains grit once you've completed setting up the platform. This covers and seal the screws onto the platform.
