About Intex Swimming Pools

Intex is the world's largest manufacturer of above ground pools. They offer a variety of pools for use in any size backyard. Intex manufactures five types of pools: the Easy Set, Round Metal Frame Pool, Oval Frame Pool, Rectangle Frame Pool and Ultra Frame Pool. Intex pools are made of a heavy-duty material and have triple-ply sidewalls that provide strength and help a pool maintain its shape. This material also makes the pools puncture resistant.

  1. Easy Set Pools

    • Intex makes nine models of the Easy-Set pool. The pools range in diameter from 8 feet to 18 feet and are 2 1/2 feet deep to 4 feet 4 inches deep. The smallest Easy Set holds 639 gallons of water while the largest holds 5,894 gallons of water. The set-up time is approximately 30 minutes and is done in three basic steps. It is set up by laying out the pool liner on flat ground, filling the ring with air and putting water in it.

    Metal Frame Pools

    • The Intex Round Metal Frame Pool comes in eight styles ranging from 10 feet to 24 feet in length. The pools are 2 1/2 feet to 4 feet 4 inches deep. The smallest of the pools holds 1,200 gallons of water and the largest Round Metal Frame holds 12,500 gallons of water. They are constructed with light grade steel which is powder coated to prevent rust. No tools are necessary to set up the pool and all the pieces snap or pin together. To assemble this style of pool takes approximately 45 minutes.

    Oval Frame Pool

    • The Oval Frame Pool consists of the design concepts of both the Easy Set and Metal Frame pools. Available in three sizes they are made with an inflatable top ring and powder coated metal that makes up the frame. Each pool is 12 feet wide and come in 20, 24 and 43-foot lengths. The two smaller sized oval frame pools are 4 feet deep and the largest is 4 feet 4 inches deep. The Oval Frame pools hold 4,390 to 6,420 gallons of water.

    Ultra Frame Pool

    • The newest model of pool offered by Intex is the Ultra Frame. It is available in two models: the Round Ultra Frame and Rectangular Ultra Frame. The new style has many improvements over the traditional styles such as a stronger frame and locking pins are no longer necessary when assembling it. The Round Ultra Frame is available in a 16-foot by 4-foot size and 18-foot by 4-foot-4 inches. The Rectangular Ultra Frame comes in an 18-, 24- or 32-foot length and each is 4-feet, 4-inches deep.

    Salt Water Pool System

    • Intex offers the Saltwater Pool System, which can be added to any of their pools. This system provides a way to maintain the pool without the use of chlorine. The system uses all-natural salt in an automated system that keeps the pool water fresh and clean. This system requires less maintenance too and does not require that salt be added continuously like chlorine.
