How to Remove Bolts From a Diving Board Base

While diving boards provide us with a huge source of entertainment, they also must be maintained properly. If diving boards are not maintained correctly, someone could be seriously harmed. Sometimes, as part of proper diving board care, you need to make sure that the bolts in the base of the diving board still have their strength and are not rusted. If the bolts are rusted, or even stripped, they need to be replaced immediately.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old bolts. Use a screw driver or screw gun. Do not unscrew each bolt separately and remove. Rather unscrew each screw a little at a time so that the weight of the diving board remains equal. This will prevent the other bolts from unnecessarily jamming.

    • 2

Check the washers and underside bolt plate to ensure their quality. Replace them if they are worn. The washers and underside bolt plate are necessary to reduce the vibration of the diving board.

    • 3

Place the new bolts into the board. Just as you unscrewed each bolt a little at a time, maintain proper balance of the board and straightness of the bolts when replacing them.
