How to Remove Surfboard Wax

Surf's up, and it's time to get out your board. If you just started the awesome sport of surfing, or you are going surfing on your next vacation,
you will need to wax your board. When you remove old wax from your board, you also remove layers of dirt and sand. You will be ready for the beach, and your surfboard will be ready to ride.

  • Blow dryer Old credit card Newspaper

      Place your board outside in the sunlight (if it is a hot day). Lay the board down. Plug in the blow dryer and hold it over the tip of the board until the wax begins to melt.

      Spread out newspaper beneath the surfboard. Hold the plastic credit card at a slight angle, and as the wax melts, scrape the wax down the board.

      Scrape the wax onto the newspaper for easy cleanup.

      Reapply new wax at this time, to help your feet grip the board.

      Stand the board upright to avoid getting sand in your newly applied wax.
