Instructions

    • 1

Create a logo for your customized tennis shirts. If you play for a club, use the club's logo to represent it, alternatively design one for use. If you can't decide what colors to use, ask other members of the team for their input.

    • 2

Choose how to customize the tennis shirts-- only your creativity limits how you achieve this. For example, you could put your name on the back of the shirt and add a large picture of an animal, such as an eagle because it has excellent vision. Or you could purchase iron-on patches from a store, to save time in creating a design.

    • 3

Buy white tennis shirts from a sports shop to give yourself a blank canvas to begin the modifications. Choose a style of shirt that can be adapted easily - cotton is easier to customize than a plastic synthetic like spandex, because it does not stretch as much, and has a matte surface to stick things to. Use white so you can dye it.

    • 4

Go to a haberdashery or arts and crafts store to obtain the things you will need. Speak to a sales assistant to be sure the products you buy are suitable for the type of material that your tennis shirts are made from.

    • 5

Remove any logos or labels from the tennis shirts by taking out stitches using the point of the blade on a pair of scissors.

    • 6

Follow the instructions of the fabric dye to successfully change the color of the white tennis shirt. Leave it to dry once this is completed.

    • 7

Use chalk to outline your customized logo onto the tennis shirt. Position the logo in the middle of the chest so it is clearly visible.

    • 8

Use fabric paint to paint the logo onto the tennis shirt. Alternatively, if you have more time, use a variety of different colored threads to stitch along the logo's outline.

    • 9

Turn the tennis shirt over and add the name of a player onto the tennis shirt. Do this by using iron-on letters. Check that you set the iron at the right temperature so that the letters stick properly.
