How to Decorate Football Shirts

At high school and college football games across the country, eager fans crowd the stands with decorated football shirts. Girlfriends, family members, or good buddies show their team spirit for the players with designed shirts and accessories.

  1. Decorating Fan Football Shirts

      Pick out a light t-shirt with the color of your favorite team. For extra spirit, buy two t-shirts to represent both team colors and wear one under the other.

      With a fabric marker, add the name and number of your favorite player to the back and/or front of your shirt. Put the name on the top across the shoulders, and put the number in large print right in the middle.

      Put the team name or mascot name on the front of the shirt. Draw a picture of the team's mascot to add some extra pep.

      Create paper decorations - like footballs or stars or helmets - glue the back of them and add them to the sides of your shirt. Let them dry before finishing.

      With the fabric markers, add some additional flavor to your shirt by writing short messages, such as: Go Team! Go Johnny! Touchdown!

      For the girls, make some designs in your shirt by slitting the sides and tying them up near your waist. Add some paint or glitter to your face and the shirt for extra showmanship.
