How to Get Stains Off a Tennis Skirt

Presenting yourself in a clean outfit makes a solid impression on a tennis court. A stained tennis skirt gives a dingy look to your appearance. A fashion-oriented player may even be thrown off her game if she is forced to wear less-than-stellar apparel. Tennis skirts are often fashioned from polyester and spandex -- or an alternative blend of fabric. The blend of different fabrics can often complicate the cleaning process. But do not fear if you happen to stain your skirt: you can remove the stain using basic household items before game time and focus your mind on the match.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour the table salt onto the stain. If the stain is already dry, dampen it with water first. Cover the stain with salt for 60 seconds to absorb any residual liquid. Brush the salt into a garbage can.

    • 2

Put the lemon juice in the spray bottle. Spray the lemon juice directly onto the stain. Rub the juice into the stain in small circles with a cotton cloth for 30 to 45 seconds. Keep the extra lemon juice on hand in case other stains arise in the near future.

    • 3

Run the skirt under cold water. Examine the skirt to see if the stain remains. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to remove any remaining stains.

    • 4

Coat the stain with laundry prewash stain remover as directed by the manufacturer's instructions if the initial stain has gone but a lemon juice stain now exists in its place. Wash the skirt in cold water. Examine the skirt and repeat Step 4 if the lemon juice stain still remains before drying.
