How to Put on Triathlon Bike Shoes

Attach your triathlon bike shoes to the pedals of your bike before your race. Do this while preparing your equipment for the two transitions during the race.

Mount the bike during the transition from swimming to cycling and place your feet on top of the triathlon bike shoes attached to the pedals.

Pedal until you have reached your cruising speed.

Continue to look forward as you coast. Reach down with your right hand to assist as you slide your right foot into the right shoe and strap on the shoe. Reach down with the left hand and slide your left foot into the left shoe without looking down and strap on the shoe.

Start to coast when you are near the next transition. Reach down with the left hand and unstrap the left shoe. Slide your foot out and place it on top of the shoe. Reach down with the right hand and unstrap the right shoe. Slide your foot out and place it on top of the shoe. This will decrease your transition time at the next transition from cycling to running.
