How to Adjust a Volleyball Rope

Volleyball is a sport that requires skill and athleticism. Invented over a hundred years ago, it was intended to be a game that businessmen could play that didn't require as much contact as other sports, such as basketball or baseball. Adjusting the tension between the poles and the rope attached to the volleyball net will raise or lower the net height in the center.

      Remove any padding surrounding the poles on the sides, and set it aside.

      Rotate the handle on the winch, if your model has one, to loosen or tighten the rope and raise or lower the volleyball net.

      Shorten or lengthen the rope attached to the stakes on each side, if your model uses them, to change the tension of rope as well as move the height of the net.

      Move the top net rope to a different eye hook (if your model uses eye hooks) to adjust the vertical location of the net. Slide the bottom rope on the pole to even out the net. Adjust the tension of the winch or stake ropes if needed.

      Slide both the top and bottom ropes along the poles, if your model doesn't have eye hooks, to change the vertical location of the net. Adjust the tension of the winch or stake ropes if needed.
