What Is the Height of a Legal Volleyball Net?

Competitive volleyball has grown over the last 50 years and now includes beach and indoor professional circuits in several countries. Though the number of team players may vary differ between the pro and scholastic teams, the height of the net is always set at either a men's or women's height.
Men's and Women's Height

A women's volleyball net is always set at the height of 7 feet 4 1/8 inches, as measured from the top of the net. On the other hand, the men play with a net height of 7 feet 11 5/8 inches from high school right on up to the pros. Junior high boys use the same height as the the girls.
Height Variations

For all volleyball courts the height is always measured at the center of the net and is extended to the playing surface. The sides of the net are allowed to be up to three-quarters of an inch higher than the center point.
