How to Become a Professional Volleyball Player

The international governing body for volleyball is the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The main professional volleyball governing body in the United States is the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), based in Los Angeles, California. You may also want to train for a spot on the U.S. Olympic volleyball team. Top male volleyball players have career earnings of over $3 million while top female players have career earnings over $750,000. There are about 300-400 professional volleyball players in the United States, some earning in excess of $300,000 per year, not including income from endorsements.

      Competing in AVP events will take you to many travel destinations. You could earn a reasonable living playing professional volleyball if you are talented and determined enough to do so.
