How to Repaint a Kiteboard
Kiteboarding is an exciting sport for water sport enthusiasts. Kiteboards often receive a repaint from constant use, Much like skateboards and surfboards, kiteboards often have intricate designs painted on them. When repainting your own kiteboard try your hand at making your own interesting kiteboard designs.
Things You'll Need
- Krylon exterior spray paint or rustoleum paint
- Paint brush
- 120 or 220 grit sandpaper
- Acetone
- Rag
- Gloves
- Teflon based boat wax

How to Repaint a Kiteboard

Choose a krylon exterior spray paint for wood or rustoleum paint if your board is plastic. Be sure to choose a bright color to help you easily spot your board in the water.

Lightly sand the bottom of your board. Use 120 or 220 grit sand paper and sand bottom evenly. Avoid not to sand down any important ridges or edges on your board.

Wipe board clean with acetone. Be sure to use gloves so as not to dirty the board before painting. Apply two to three coats. Each coat adds weight to your board. Allow each coat 10 to 15 minutes to dry.

Allow your board to dry for a full day. Apply a layer of Teflon based boat wax to help protect your board.
