How to Customize Kneeboards

Kneeboards provide sport and entertainment for water enthusiasts. They can be used for riding waves or towing someone behind a boat. As the name implies, people use kneeboards in a kneeling stance. The interior of a kneeboard usually consists of a foam core while the exterior is either made of fiberglass (for recreational boards) or a fiberglass/graphite composite (for advanced boards). Kneeboards can be customized to suit your personality; however, you will need to pick your materials carefully. Whatever you put on your board will need to be durable enough to withstand water and rough treatment.

Use water-based paint pens to draw designs on your board. If you are not a talented artist you can make abstract art with spirals and squiggly lines. You can also write your name on the board or decorate it with words that describe your personality.

Use spray paint and stencils to create artwork on your kneeboard. You can use several corresponding stencils to create a scene, you can use random stencils to create a collage or you can use one large stencil to create an image in the middle of your board. You might also want to spray paint the entire kneeboard one color as a base for your other customizations.

Purchase surfboard stickers to place on your board. They are available at most water sport stores and can also be found online. Surfboard stickers are printed on vinyl and have water-resistant adhesive on the back. When you apply them, make sure you smooth out all the little bubbles before you take your board out in the water.
