How to Carry a KA-BAR TDI

The KA-BAR TDI is an offhand, short-bladed pistol-grip knife, designed to draw like a sidearm in dire situations. While marketed to the law-enforcement demographic, it can be obtained by civilians as well. Carrying the TDI effectively takes little time and preparation.

Instructions

  1. Options for Carrying the KA-BAR TDI

    • 1

Mount the sheath on your belt. The TDI comes standard with a hard-plastic sheath, complete with a clip for quick removal of the belt, and with a more permanent strap option, which you can thread your belt directly through.

    • 2

Mount the sheath on your chest webbing. Both the clip and the straps can be affixed to load-bearing vest and webbing rig setups, enabling it to be strategically placed on your body, where it can be used most effectively.

    • 3

Thread a ball chain through the hole in the sheath to carry the knife around your neck. A slim ball chain, like those used for military dog tags, easily fits through the mounting hole on the sheath. This allows the knife to be worn like a necklace for concealed-carry options.
