      Clean all the main connection points of the spring. Areas where the spring connects to the trailer can become vulnerable to corrosion. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to these areas.

      Apply anti-corrosive paints made with zinc and/or aluminum metal foils and silicone resin. This creates a barrier between the metal spring and water or chemical interaction that leads to corrosion. These paints are available at hardware stores and automotive stores.

      Dry off the springs after every use of the trailer with a cotton towel.
