1
Enroll in a certification program in your area. Water ski instructors are usually taught the basic beginner mono positions; however there are typically three classifications of skiing: slalom, trick and jump. Check to see if your program teaches all three forms.
-
2
Keep up to date with your certifications. The initial program you take will most likely have CPR and First Aid as a requirement. You must renew these certifications as well as your water ski certifications depending on your state laws.
-
3
Pay all certification and licensing fees. Payment of your certification is usually annual. If you do not wish to keep your membership up to date, you simply stop paying the fee.
