Homemade Wrestling Mats
Things You'll Need
- 10-foot-by-10-foot-by-1.25-inch foam pad
- 10-foot-by-10-foot vinyl covering
- 10-foot-by-10-foot needle punch carpet
- Strong adhesive tape
- Scissors
- Glue adhesive

Lay your vinyl covering over the foam pad. Pull the vinyl covering tight and use the glue adhesive to stick the two together. Let the adhesive dry before moving to the next step.

Adhere the needle punch carpet to the other side of the foam pad. Adhere the vinyl and needle punch carpet at the edges so the foam pad is sealed between the carpet and the vinyl. According to AmateurWrestler.com, "The bottom side is covered with needle punch carpet to provide durability and non-slip traction."

Attach the adhesive tape to make a 7.5-foot-diameter circle, measured from the center of the mat. FILA wrestling regulations state the center circle's diameter as 3/4 the size of the square footage of the mat.
