How to Watch a Wrestling Match
Instructions
-
-
1
Find a local wrestling match. College wrestling might be a good place to start because the wrestlers are more skilled and the fans tend to be more knowledgeable than in high school wrestling.
-
2
Buy a program at the door to learn about the wrestlers, their weight classes, the scoring system and the basics of the sport.
-
3
Sit next to parents of the competitors or avid fans so you can ask questions about what moves are being performed and how many points they are worth.
-
4
Use the scorecard in the program to keep score. Keeping score will keep you more involved with the match and make it easier to understand different moves and their point value.
-
5
Meet the coach after the match and ask about any moves or terms you didn't understand. Coaches and wrestlers are usually available for autographs and chat after the match.
